Straight-sided cans
Definition: Straight-sided cans are metal cans that have a constant diameter at the top and bottom of the can, i.e. without any necking of the can.
Characteristics:
Straight-sided cans have an overall straight shape with no visible necking.
Usually used for food or beverages that do not require a special shape.
The manufacturing process is relatively simple and suitable for large-scale industrial production.
Necked-in can
Definition: Necked-in can is a can with a reduced cross-sectional diameter at one or both ends of the body, which can be used with a smaller lid or bottom.
Characteristics: One or both ends of the can have a distinctive girdle design, giving the can a necked-in shape.
This design helps to save space and facilitates stacking and transport. The necked-down design also enhances the stability of the can and reduces the risk of tipping. Commonly used for food or beverages that require a special shape to suit specific packaging requirements.
